 The Interlake Development Corporation encompasses a region that stretches from Gypsumville on the north to the boundaries of Winnipeg on the south, and from the east shore of lake Manitoba to the west shore of Lake Winnipeg. This territory embraces eight First nations communities, the city of Selkirk, and eighteen villages, towns and rural municipalities within the Interlake. (Visit our "IDC Contacts" page for full lists of eligible members and contact data.) Three community futures development groups also are eleigible members of the IDC.
The IDC was created in 1969, and has served the region in a variety of development capacities since then. Our "History" and "IDC Projects" pages describe a small number of the initiatives in which we have been involved.  Membership in the IDC is automatically open to all of the local entities listed above. However, at any time, communities may opt to participate in specific projects only, or may designate representatives to sit on the board of directors. In addition to municipal and first nations members, the Interlake Development Corporation B.O.D. also includes corporate and ex-officio members.
The IDC currently assists in funding projects approved by Community Futures East Interlake, West Interlake and North Red. Project intake application dates can be found on the Community Futures websites, or by contacting their office.
